drop a duck anywhere. the ocean already knows where it goes.
release drifters and discover the sea is carved into five great wheels
In 1992 a container fell off a cargo ship in the North Pacific and spilled roughly 29,000 plastic bath toys into the water. They were not lost -- for the next decade oceanographers used where they washed up to check and refine exactly this model: five great rotating systems, driven by wind and the Coriolis effect, that carve the ocean into five wheels rather than one open expanse. Drop something anywhere in one of them and its path is not random. It is decided by which wheel it fell into, the moment it fell.
Concepts: emergence, fluid-flow.
