Lead Throw

glass ahead. you are still moving.

glide down a dawn glasshouse throwing chrome balls at hanging glass; a ball falls from the moment it leaves

A thrown ball starts falling the instant it leaves your hand, and you are still gliding forward, so the farther the glass, the higher you must aim. Glass breaks only when the ball meets it hard and square: one that has already bounced off the gravel arrives too slow and clinks off. The glass globes hanging high to the side pay your balls back, so leading the long throw is what keeps a run alive.

Concepts: projectile, gravity, energy.
